Hi Taylor,
Why don’t you try listening to some of the postings that are on gabcast for an idea of what to do? That’s the best model I could provide, truly. I would listen to anything posted by Michael, Ellen, Nathan Raker-Jordan, Maya, etc. I know I’m leaving out others who did excellent responses, but there’s at least a start for you.
Basically, I don’t want you to retell the story – I want you to respond. For example, for week one you need to decide what the theme of the book is. There are all sorts of themes – some are man versus nature, or good triumphs over evil – or a theme can be one of self-discovery. Identifying the protagonist is identifying the main character who represents “good” in your book. The antagonist can be one person, or it can be a group of people. The antagonist is the person or group in the book that antagonizes or creates a problem for the protagonist.
Why don’t you try posting your first response, and I’ll respond to it and let you know if you’re on the right track. Good luck!
Mrs. Jacobs
Discuss Your Book Here
When writing about your book,
Reminder of dates: By Monday, February 11th, PLEASE record your book title. By February 15th, you MUST respond to the first three dates on the rubric: 1/31, 2/8 and 2/15. If you are having trouble with the gabcast, you can resopnd on the blog. Either way, I am expecting that you are producing the responses that have been outliend in the timeline according to the rubric.
